Our First Hills Style Market at Cherrybrook, What a Day!
On June 27th, Saturday, we held our very first Hills Style Market at the Cherrybrook Community and Cultural Centre, and it was one to remember. It was the first market of its kind to come to Cherrybrook, and from the moment the doors opened, the hall filled with local makers, artists, shoppers and friends ready to make it a day worth showing up for.
A hall full of makers
Local artists set up beside racks of pre-loved fashion, tables of handmade jewellery and baskets overflowing with crochet. Stallholders swapped stories with the customers browsing their tables, and more than a few walked away having made a new friend as much as a sale.
Tables were piled high with polymer clay charms, hand-strung earrings and crocheted characters of every kind, each one made by the person standing behind it. It's that handmade, one-of-a-kind feeling that made wandering from stall to stall so much fun.
Tucked between the stalls, a tarot reader and a live artist gave the market a little extra magic. Visitors lined up for a card reading or paused to watch a sketch take shape, turning a browse through the market into a proper afternoon out.
Racks of pre-loved fashion and accessories drew a steady crowd all day, with shoppers digging through bargain tables and racks of second-hand finds looking for their next favourite piece.
And underneath it all was the thing we love most about markets: local makers meeting each other for the first time, visitors discovering a handmade piece they didn't know they needed, and a community coming together in a hall that, for one Saturday, felt entirely its own.
