Food Vendor T&C's
Last updated: 5 October 2026
These terms apply to anyone booking or holding a food stall at Hills Style Market at Cherrybrook Community and Cultural Centre. By submitting a food vendor application, booking a stall or trading at the market, you agree to these terms.
Food vendor bookings
We welcome a range of food and beverage vendors that complement the Hills Style Market and provide a positive experience for our community.
Submitting an expression of interest application as food vendor does not guarantee a stall until confirmed by us. Food vendors are selected at our discretion taking into account the suitability of the food offering, menu variety, presentation, space, equipment requirements and the overall mix of vendors at each market.
We may limit the number of vendors selling similar or competing food products.
Stall placement is decided by us and vendors may not move, swap, sublet or transfer their allocated space without our prior approval.
Food vendors must provide accurate details of their proposed menu, pricing, preparation methods, equipment and other requirements as part of the application process. You must not sell food or drinks that have not been approved as part of your application without our prior approval.
Stall sizes and available equipment are as advised at the time of booking. Any tables, chairs, power or other equipment available for hire are subject to availability and additional fees where applicable.
Setup is from 9:00am – 10:00am and pack down is from 15:00pm – 16:00pm unless otherwise advised. Food vendors should arrive 10–15 minutes before their allocated setup time.
Food business & regulatory requirements
We welcome food vendors of different sizes, including small home-based businesses, independent bakers and established food businesses.
All vendors are responsible for ensuring that their food is safe and suitable for sale and that they comply with the food safety, council and other legal requirements applicable to their food products and business activities.
Vendors must provide accurate information about their business, where their food is prepared, and the types of food they intend to sell as part of their application.
Depending on the nature of the food and the business, vendors may be required to notify or register with the relevant local council, obtain approvals, or meet additional food safety requirements. Vendors must ensure that any applicable requirements have been met before trading at Hills Style Market.
Where applicable, vendors must meet relevant Food Safety Supervisor, food handler training and other food safety requirements.
We may request supporting documents or further information where reasonably necessary to assess an application or confirm compliance.
Submitting an application does not guarantee approval to trade. We reserve the right to decline an application or prevent a vendor from trading if we reasonably consider that the proposed food, preparation arrangements or compliance arrangements are unsuitable for the market or do not meet applicable requirements.
Approved food, menu & pricing
Food vendors must only sell the food and drinks that have been approved as part of their application.
Any changes to the menu, ingredients, preparation methods or type of food being sold must be discussed with us before the market.
All food and drinks must be accurately described and reasonably priced and with prices clearly displayed to customers.
Vendors are responsible for ensuring that their food is safe, suitable for consumption and accurately represented.
Alcohol must NOT be sold or supplied at the market.
Food safety & hygiene
Food vendors must maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the market.
Potentially hazardous food must be stored, transported, prepared, displayed and served in accordance with applicable food safety requirements, including appropriate temperature control.
Raw food must be kept separate from ready to eat food, and vendors must take reasonable steps to prevent cross contamination.
Food preparation, cooking, serving and storage areas must be kept clean and hygienic. Appropriate handwashing facilities, cleaning and sanitising arrangements must be available for the vendor's operations.
Food handlers must maintain appropriate personal hygiene and must not handle food when they are unwell or where doing so could create a food safety risk.
Where applicable, vendors must be able to demonstrate that they are safely receiving, storing, processing, displaying and transporting food and cleaning and sanitising their equipment and food-contact surfaces.
Vendors must comply with any reasonable food-safety direction given by the venue, council, authorised officer or Hills Style Market organiser.
Allergens & customer information
Food vendors are responsible for providing customers with accurate information about allergens contained in the food they sell.
Where allergen information is required to be displayed or provided on request, vendors must ensure that the information is clear, accurate and readily available.
Vendors must not claim that food is allergen-free unless they can properly substantiate that claim and have appropriate controls in place to prevent unintended allergen contamination.
If a customer asks about allergens or ingredients, vendors must provide accurate information and should advise the customer where they cannot guarantee the absence of an allergen.
NSW requirements require businesses selling food at markets and temporary events to provide information about allergens that may be present in the food they sell.
Food preparation, storage & transportation
Food must be prepared offsite in a suitable food preparation area and in accordance with the food safety requirements applicable to the vendor's business.
Food must be transported to the market in clean, suitable containers and under conditions that prevent contamination and maintain food safety.
Vendors are responsible for ensuring that food is stored at the appropriate temperatures during transportation, at the stall and throughout the market. Food requiring temperature control must be kept at temperatures required by applicable food safety standards.
Reheating previously prepared food for serving to customers may be permitted with prior approval from Hills Style Market. All proposed reheating equipment must be disclosed in the vendor's application and approved before the event. Onsite cooking, including cooking raw food, deep frying, pan frying, BBQs, grilling and the use of open flames or gas cooking equipment, is not permitted.
Vendors must ensure that food is handled hygienically and protected from contamination throughout preparation, transportation, storage, reheating and service. Appropriate equipment must be available to maintain food at safe temperatures, including refrigeration, insulated containers or hot-holding equipment where required.
Vendors must not sell food that they know or reasonably suspect, is unsafe or unsuitable for consumption. Hills Style Market reserves the right to require a vendor to stop selling any food where a food safety concern arises.

Power availability at the venue is limited and is not guaranteed for food vendors. Extension cords, power boards and unauthorised electrical connections are not permitted. Vendors must not assume that power will be available and should plan their operations accordingly.
Vendors are encouraged to use suitable insulated food containers, thermal containers or other appropriate food-storage equipment where possible. Any food requiring temperature control must be kept at the temperatures required by applicable food safety standards.
Vendors must ensure that all equipment used is safe and suitable for its intended purpose and must keep aisles, exits, fire equipment, access points and other designated areas clear at all times.

Food scraps, packaging, cooking oil, wastewater and other waste must be collected and disposed of appropriately.
Cooking oil, grease or wastewater must not be poured into venue drains, toilets or other areas unless specifically permitted.
At the end of the market, vendors must remove their own rubbish, food waste, equipment and belongings and leave their allocated area clean and in the condition in which they found it.
Any additional cleaning or damage caused by a vendor may be charged to that vendor.
Temporary food stalls should have appropriate facilities for waste disposal, wastewater, cleaning and handwashing consistent with applicable requirements.
Customer purchases & complaints
Each food stall is operated independently by its vendor. Any purchase you make is a transaction between you and that vendor directly.
Hills Style Market is not a party to individual food sales and is not responsible for food quality, ingredients, allergens, pricing, descriptions, refunds, returns or other issues arising from a purchase. These are the responsibility of the vendor.
Vendors are responsible for handling customer questions, complaints, refunds and other issues relating to their own food and sales.
